Workshop 1 Beginners watercolour with Watercolour Society of Queensland. We covered types of paper, dry, damp, moist and wet paper application. All types of washes from weak to strong with adding pigment and worked with these washes to create small watercolours. I worked them hard and they produced  some nice works.

Our lovely model at Atelier Studios Salisbury Qld. I worked in grey gouache underwash then worked cool and warm grey pastel Art Spctrum with a touch of coloured pastels

Demo Pastel on white Claire Fontaine Pastelmat. First time I have used this lovely paper. I painted a wash of rose grey ( mixed blue, red and yellow watercolour) for a plain soft neutral tone to work my pastels on. It holds pastel beautifully no falling dust. A bit like Fisher 400 paper. I used Art Spectrum square pastels and a few Terry Ludwig and Schmincke pastels. What a delight to paint children. Reference thanks to Gail.

I just completed this pastel portrait after having it sit unfinished in my studio from a demo I did last year. So glad I completed it. This beautiful girl was working in a coffee shop which served delicious coffee in Portland the year before when we visited there. She kindly agreed to let me take photos of her but unfortunately I have forgotten her name. So if by chance she sees it would appreciate her contacting me. I am forever in search of new faces to paint so constantly connecting with people to paint them. Some will take years for me to get to to paint but I paint them when I am ready to do so. Thank you to anyone who agrees for me to paint them.
